Summary: Drives a car to transport specimens, supplies (tubes needles printing material or tests from Client's Offices or the Shiel's Patient Service Centers by performing the duties listed below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Employee is required to wear company uniform when on duty
Responsible to take along all supplies and tools needed for route (keys, beeper, Nextel Radio, ez pass, etc.)
Take one cooler with ice packs for specimens and one cooler with dry ice for frozen specimens
Complete route and specimen count and supplies sheet
Deliver supplies and reports to clients' offices
Pick up all specimens from clients' offices and boxes
Complete route and specimen count sheet as specimens are being retrieved from clients' offices
Route must be completed before returning to base
Keep company car clean and maintained
Transport specimens to lab in appropriate coolers, keeping specimens in coolers at all times until arrival inside the laboratory
Wait for specimen handler to count specimens and make sure it is correct
Wait for dispatcher to check your route sheet to make sure all stops are picked up
Clean cooler with a spray of dilute Clorox and water to decontaminate and disinfect the cooler
Stats must be delivered to lab as quickly as possible

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
